Senior Supply Chain Specialist

Job Summary:

This position is responsible for driving end-to-end supply chain activities – including procurement, logistics, order fulfillment and supplier management- ensuring that all processes meet stringent regulatory requirements ( FDA, MDR, ISO 13485) and deliver high quality products aligned with organizational goals.

Job Duties:

  • Assist with implementation of supply chain strategies aligned with medical device regulations and Current Good Manufacturing Practices (CGMP’s) and ISO 13485.
  • Oversee procurement of devices, components and materials, including qualification and management of suppliers to meet quality and compliance needs.
  • Ensure that logistics, warehousing, and distribution processes are appropriate, maintain product integrity, adhering to Good Distribution Practices (GDP).
  • Coordinate with contract manufacturers and third-party logistics providers to optimize shipment processes, minimize lead times and ensure on-time delivery.
  • Work with Team members to prepare, maintain and audit supply chain documentation to support FDA inspections, ISO audits, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, Regulatory, Quality and Sales to ensure supply chain activities meet business and product requirements.
  • Help to develop and manage inventory strategies to balance supply and demand, prevent shortages or excess inventory, and support product launches.
  • Monitor and report on Supply Chain KPIs, including supplier performance, inventory turnover, shipment accuracy, and compliance to regulatory standards.
  • Professionally interacts and maintains effective and open communication with all personnel, vendors/manufacturers and customers.
  • Responsible to perform all duties safely and in a manner consistent with the policies and procedures of Velico.
  • Responsible to report all accidents/incidents (e.g., motor vehicle, customer, employee) to the necessary personnel (e.g. COO, CEO and President).
  • Adheres to all applicable department, production, and company related Operational, Safety and Human Resources policies and procedures.
  • Complies with all Federal, State and local laws, including employment-related laws.
    Performs all duties as assigned.

  • This position does not have the authority, without written approval from the CEO and President, to take any of the following actions with respect to the Company (except as expressly provided for in the annual operating budget or otherwise approved by the CEO and President) including:
  • Entering into any contract or other agreement;
  • Entering into any lease, license, concession or other occupancy agreement; or
  • Entering into any arrangement for the employment of any professional firm;
  • Settling any litigation or claims;
  • Borrow money, issue any guarantee or incur any interest or contingent ordinary trade debt;
  • Sell, rent or otherwise dispose of all or any portion of the Company except for the sale of inventory, as approved by the CEO and President;
  • Acquire any capital assets or interest therein, or,
  • Take any action that is prohibited in the Employee Handbook or requires the approval of the CEO and President.

Required Education, Training, Knowledge, and Experience: (Describes the minimum education, training, knowledge and experience which are required to competently perform the job duties of this job).

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering or related field
    8+ years of progressive experience in supply chain management
  • Experience in supplier qualifications, audit processes and international procurement
  • Strong skills in process improvement (LEAN, Six Sigma), data analytics and supply chain management systems.
  • Effective communicator and cross-functional collaborator

  • General office environment in which work is usually performed in a sitting position and may require stooping, kneeling, reaching, lifting and carrying during the course of the work shift.
  • Required to solely lift and safely move material of up to approximately 25 lbs. during the course of the work shift.
  • Maybe required to work overtime (e.g., nights or weekends) to meet monthly, quarterly and/or operations and annual compliance deadlines.
  • Required to travel via plane & car, as needed.
