Jihae Sohn

Jihae serves as Velico’s Vice President of Product Development. In this role, Jihae oversees the development and evaluation of single-use disposable components of the FrontlineODP™ System in addition to overseeing all in vitro characterizations of the Frontline ODP Unit. She also serves as part of the regulatory team, contributing to all regulatory submissions. She has worked with the FrontlineODP System from its initial concept to the current design.

Jihae has over 12 years of experience in the medical device industry and brings a wealth of knowledge from having worked at Covidien, Semprus BioScience and Shire Human Genetic Therapies. She has a background in vascular medical devices including anti-thrombotic polymer coatings and the development of vascular models and assays. Her graduate work focused on stabilizing dried proteins in chitosan films.

Jihae holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Northeastern University and a M.S. in Chemical Engineering from Tufts University.
